What is the course about?

This course will help you to create wired sugar flowers & leaves as well as dusting & taping into a spray. It is perfect for beginners to learn, practice and develop their sugar flower skills. Flowers/leaves will include: simple Blossoms, Sweet Peas, Mini Roses & leaves, Primroses, flowering Quince & different types of filler flowers & berries. You will also dust the flowers & foliage and tape the flowers into a spray.

What previous experience, knowledge or qualifications do I need for this course?

This course is suitable for those that have no experience with sugar flowers as well as those who have a little knowledge and want to improve their skills. No qualifications are necessary.

What do I need to bring with me?

Small Non-stick rolling pin (tutor will have one to borrow)
Non stick board or other board to roll out on (you can roll out on the table)
Small Palette knife
Ball/bone tool (tutor will have one to borrow)
Soft foam modelling pad (tutor will have one to borrow)
Cutting wheel or sharp knife to cut paste
Paper covered Flower wires (26g green & 26g white)
Small Rose petal cutter (there will be a template to use)
Rose leaf cutter & veiner (there will be one to borrow)
Paintbrush (tutor will have one to borrow)
Small amount Cornflour
Small amount of Foil
Small pair of scissors (nail scissors) & wire cutters or strong scissors
Block of flower oasis (covered in cling film)
Good quality Flower paste – like Squires florist paste (white & green) or other make
Cardboard box to take flower spray home
Cleaning wipes

Are there any additional costs?

Each week you will be given a list of things to bring to each lesson. The flower/leaf cutters & veiners will be discussed on the first lesson.
