What is the course about?

The course is aimed at introducing learners to basic cooking skills and the concept of cooking nutritious meals using plant based ingredients. We will be cooking classic dishes such as Hearty Kale soup, Chickpea and pineapple curry, Cauliflower hotpot, Veggie Shepherd’s pie and Grilled Veg Bruschetta.

It is suitable for anyone who is keen to learn how to cook plant based meals at home.

What previous experience, knowledge or qualifications do I need for this course?

No previous experience is required.

What do I need to bring with me?

For the course you will need basic kitchen utensils, including; Chopping board, sharp knife, saucepan with lid, spatula or wooden spoon, a set of measuring cups, a measuring jug, a potato masher, a vegetable peeler, a grater.
Week 1- Hearty kale soup (will serve approximately 4).
Ingredients list; I large onion, 2 cloves of garlic, 2 tablespoons of sunflower oil, 2 large carrots, 100g Kale, 4 large potatoes, I vegetable stock cube, 1 teaspoon mixed herbs, Salt and black pepper to taste, Water
The course will be delivered online so you will need to have access to a suitable IT device and environment to watch the classes whilst being able to cook along.

Are there any additional costs?

Ingredients will cost around £5 a week when cooking.
