What is the course about?

This is a Learning for Personal Interest course that will enable you to understand and communicate confidently in routine tasks and predictable situations.

Speaking, listening, reading and writing will be developed through everyday topics and practical situations and you will also gain an insight into the culture and customs of the country. Topics could include: personal and physical descriptions, daily routine, holidays and travel, talking about recent and future events, expressing preferences and opinions, describing the area where you live and the world of work.

What previous experience, knowledge or qualifications do I need for this course?

This is the follow-on of a pre-established class that welcomes new learners. You can communicate with confidence in simple and routine tasks, or have completed an Upper Improvers course with us (CEFR: A1). If you are unsure of your level, please contact us and ask to speak to the tutor for further assistance. Diagnostic self-assessment sheets are available on-line and from our centres.

What do I need to bring with me?

Pen and paper. At the first session your tutor will discuss with you the purchase of a suitable dictionary and textbook.
