What is the course about?

The course will enable you to understand more complex discussions concerning familiar topics. You will work towards being able to participate in conversations with a degree of fluency and spontaneity and express viewpoints on a range of issues. The emphasis will be on developing your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills as well as understanding of the rules of the language.  The structure of the language is introduced through everyday topics and practical situations, and will be explained and reinforced using resources created by the tutor. You will also gain an insight into the culture, history and customs of the country.  Topics could include: travel, healthy living, leisure pursuits - sports, cinema and music- and  topics that are related to your personal interests.

What previous experience, knowledge or qualifications do I need for this course?

This is a new course aimed at students who have studied the language for some years and may have studied a GCSE/Level 2 course. It will also be the right course for you if you studied at Level 3 some time ago but feel in need of a friendly re-introduction to French. If you are unsure of your level, please contact us and we will put you in touch with the tutor via email. Diagnostic self-assessment sheets are available from our centres and on our website

What do I need to bring with me?

Pen and paper. The choice of reading book will be discussed at the first session.
