What is the course about?
This is a Learning for Personal Interest course that will enable you to develop the language skills needed to understand and formulate complex ideas and opinions in factual and literary texts, or in talks on unfamiliar themes.
Speaking, listening, reading and writing will be developed through a range of topics that could include: current affairs and newspaper articles, the media, social and political issues and literature –poetry, prose and drama. Through these modules, you will also gain an insight into the culture and customs of the country.
What previous experience, knowledge or qualifications do I need for this course?
This is the follow-on of a pre-established class that welcomes new learners. You may have an AS qualification or have progressed from an Advanced B1 course with us (CEFR: B1). If you are unsure of your level, please contact us and ask to speak to the tutor for further assistance. Diagnostic self-assessment sheets are available on-line and from our centres.
What do I need to bring with me?
Pen and paper. At the first session your tutor will discuss with you the purchase of a suitable dictionary and textbook.
