What is the course about?
This course is a Learning for Work and will provide you with the opportunity to learn skills such as:
Receive and read an email message
Create, forward and/ or send an email message
Outline and demonstrate Netiquette
Identify Malicious Emails including Spam, Phishing and how to recognise and treat it
Respect privacy in Emails: How to use CC and BC
Switch between Mail, Calendar, Contacts and Tasks
Use different Mail folders (Inbox, Draft, Sent Items, Junk, Deleted Items and Outbox)
Typical activities for this course:
How to work with the Outlook Window with the Ribbon and the different Tabs to use
Detail on adding an attachment, a picture or a hyperlink to an email message
Adding new contacts into Contacts and sending emails to them
Distribution lists using added contacts
Use of Calendar for creation of appointments – defining reminders and use categories
Use of Calendar for creating a meeting and inviting work-colleagues to it (+ checking responses)
Creation of email folders within the Inbox to structure and organise Emails
Defining and creating rules for incoming emails to go right into the appropriate email folder
How to create a personalised Email signature?
How to set up and change an Out of Office reply
In the instance of a Government imposed lockdown if this course cannot be moved to online it will be paused until it is able to begin again. No refunds will be made due to a Government imposed lockdown.
What previous experience, knowledge or qualifications do I need for this course?
This course is for someone who has completed a beginner’s computer skills course with Aspire Sussex, or is already confident using the keyboard and mouse.
