What is the course about?
This Learning for Personal Interest course will develop basic communication skills in practical situations for absolute beginners and students with a very basic knowledge of the language who intend to use the language on holiday or for work.
Speaking, listening, reading and writing skills will be developed through everyday topics and practical situations; you will also gain an insight into the culture and customs of the country. Topics could include: introducing yourself and other people, family information shopping, ordering food and drink, booking a hotel room, asking for and giving directions.
What previous experience, knowledge or qualifications do I need for this course?
This course is for absolute beginners, as well as beginners with a very basic knowledge of the language, or for those who may have completed a taster course with us. If you are unsure of your level, please contact us and ask to speak to the tutor for further assistance. Diagnostic self-assessment sheets are available on our website and from our centres.
What do I need to bring with me?
Pen and paper. At the first session, your tutor will discuss the purchase of a suitable dictionary and textbook with you.
