In the community
Aspire Sussex works with a large number of other organisations in order to support the fulfilment of its goals and mission. Currently we work in partnership across Sussex to deliver a range of qualification courses as well as supporting vulnerable groups. We are keen to support employability skills and independent living and learning.
Community Learning Trust
Led by Aspire Sussex, the Community Learning trust aims to bring partner organisations together to develop and implement a broad range of innovative and inclusive community learning opportunities that make a difference to local people in their community.
Its aim is to deliver highly effective adult learning and skills that:
- Raise the skills of individuals, groups and communities
- Promote community action and well-being
- Develop tools that enhance personal, social and vocational goals
- Encourage independence and offer choice and progression
Over the past year, 26 providers have joined up under the trust banner and funded projects in the community including:
- A cultural exchange between British and Spanish students
- A choir for adults with learning difficulties
- Gardening projects for adults with mental health issues
The trust meets three times a year to share ideas and resources, provide support and consider new work.
