Aspire Sussex Trustees

Aspire Sussex Ltd is a charity which has been providing adult and community education in - and beyond - West Sussex since 2012.  We wish to appoint new trustees to our Board and would be particularly interested in receiving applications from individuals who have a Marketing, Finance or Law background and who are passionate about education.

Board and sub-committee meetings are usually held in Burgess Hill.  The time commitment needed is around 50 hours per year, which includes attending about 12 meetings per year. 

Please note that trustees are unpaid, although expenses - such as travel to meetings - are reimbursed.

Volunteering opportunities

Volunteering with Aspire provides an opportunity to meet and work with a diverse group of people in a fun environment, while at the same time supporting someone on their learning journey to achieve their goals.

We currently have opportunities for volunteers to support tutors in the following areas:

• Maths
• ESOL (English for speakers of other languages)
• ALD (Adults with learning difficulties and/or disabilities)
• Mental Health
• Arts & Crafts

As a volunteer you will support students, either individually or in small groups, who want to improve their skills for work, for everyday life or to help their children at school. You will be working under the guidance of a qualified tutor at all times. If you would like to support a subject area not listed above, we would be pleased to receive your application on a speculative basis.

We offer all our volunteer’s full training to support them in their role, as well as the opportunity to undertake a course with Aspire. A Volunteer Information Pack and a copy of the role profile can be found below.
