What is the course about?
The course will enable you to understand more complex lines of argument concerning familiar topics. You will be able to participate in discussions with a degree of fluency and spontaneity and express viewpoints on topical issues. The emphasis will be on developing your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills as well as understanding of the rules of the language. The structure of the language is introduced through everyday topics and practical situations and you will also gain an insight into the culture and customs of the country. Topics could include: national and world travel, healthy living, leisure pursuits - sports, cinema and music- the world of work, and topics that are related to your personal interests.
What previous experience, knowledge or qualifications do I need for this course?
This is the follow-on of a pre-established class that welcomes new learners. You will have studied the language for some years and may have a GCSE, or have completed a Level 2+ course with us. If you are unsure of your level, please contact us and ask to speak to the tutor. Diagnostic self-assessment sheets are available from our centres and on our website.
What do I need to bring with me?
Pen and paper. At the first session your tutor will discuss with you the purchase of a suitable dictionary and textbook.
