What is the course about?
Up to 100% concessions available. This is a brand new exciting Essential Digital Skills, Entry level 3, Learning for Work course. You will have the opportunity to learn skills such as:
Learning to stay safe and be responsible online
Protecting your digital footprint
Using the internet to complete online forms and make digital payments safely
Capture images, sound and video using laptops and mobile devices
Communicate online using email and video chat
Recognising and solve simple technical problems
Learn how to format documents in Word
Learn how to format documents in PowerPoint.
Typical activities for this course
Setup and participate in a video chat
Capture images, video and sound
Send emails with attachments
Produce professional word documents with images
Create a personal file management system with sub folders and recognise different file types
Use a digital wallet to make an online payment
Create presentations with images.
Installing applications on smart devices or computers (laptops/desktops)
Adjust and change system settings (connecting to Wi-Fi, sound, backgrounds, language, time, accessibility options)
Troubleshoot simple technical issues

THE FIRST 5 SESSIONS ARE 3 HOURS LONG (9:30 - 12:30) THEN THE REMAINING 11 SESSIONS ARE 2.5 HOURS LONG (9:30 - 12:00)
What previous experience, knowledge or qualifications do I need for this course?
You should be comfortable using a keyboard, mouse and using at least one application and have some experience using a desktop computer or laptop. As this is an Entry Level three qualification you will need a good understanding of English, at least a level 1 in English or higher. You will be asked to sit an initial assessment to determine whether this course is the best level for you. It is essential you have access to a laptop or desktop, with a reliable internet connection to complete homework and to prepare for your exams. Access to a smartphone or mobile device would be advantageous but not essential.
