What is the course about?

This Learning for Personal Interest course will introduce students to the basics of British Sign Language in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Students should leave the course having a basic grasp of BSL grammar, be able to fingerspell their own name, introduce themselves; where they live and work. Give and receive basic information from others including numer (time, age) and have a foundation of basic signs to use in simple conversations.

What previous experience, knowledge or qualifications do I need for this course?

This course is for students with no knowledge of BSL, who would like to learn some basic skills.

What do I need to bring with me?

A pen and some paper.

The tutor will discuss with you and recommend the purchase of a suitable dictionary or downloadable app if you would like to continue with BSL.
