What is the course about?
This is a Learning for Personal Interest course that will enable you to communicate and understand complex lines of argument concerning familiar and unfamiliar topics and present clear, detailed descriptions on a wide variety of issues of interest to you.
Speaking, listening, reading and writing will be developed through a range of topics that could include: national and world travel, healthy living, leisure pursuits - sports, cinema and music- the world of work, as well as topics that are related to your personal interests. Through these modules, you will also gain an insight into the culture and customs of the country.
What previous experience, knowledge or qualifications do I need for this course?
This is the follow-on of a pre-established class that welcomes new learners. You will have already studied the language for at least 4 years and may have a GCSE qualification, or have completed an Intermediate course with us (CEFR:A2). If you are unsure of your level, please contact us and ask to speak to the tutor for further assistance. Diagnostic self-assessment sheets are available on-line and from our centre.
What do I need to bring with me?
Pen and paper. At the first session your tutor will discuss with you the purchase of a suitable dictionary and textbook.
