Celebrating Being Part Of 21st Century Public Services

We celebrated being one of the first 100 new British businesses to have spun out from the public sector at a celebratory reception hosted by Francis Maude, Minister for Cabinet Office at 10 Downing Street last week. Attendees had the opportunity to meet and discuss their experiences.

Aspire Sussex, formerly West Sussex Adult & Community Learning Service and part of West Sussex County Council, became a mutual back in September 2012; the first Adult Education service in the UK to do so. It is now one of a hundred organisations delivering £1.5bn of public sector services in new and different ways.

Speaking after the event, Judith McManus, acting CEO for Aspire Sussex, said “It was a privilege to attend and for all our efforts to be recognised. We’ve been on a massive learning journey over the past two years and all our staff have had to work together to think differently and learn new skills.”

We have recently launched our new programme of Adult Education courses across West Sussex for the coming year. For further information visit www.aspiresussex.org.uk, contact 0345 6 01 01 61 or email [email protected].
