What is the course about?

In the instance of a Government imposed lockdown if this course cannot be moved to online it will be paused until it is able to begin again. No refunds will be made due to a Government imposed lockdown.

This is a Learning for Health & Wellbeing course. Building on techniques learned through the self-care programme, this course provides you with an opportunity to explore strategies for enhancing the wellbeing of others. It will include connecting basic listening skills with common wellbeing challenges and identifying which may be most helpful. There will also be discussions around local support services. This course could be helpful across a broad range of circumstances, but will also provide an opportunity to explore simple counselling skills before committing to further study.

What previous experience, knowledge or qualifications do I need for this course?

Students will generally have completed one or more of the ‘My Wellbeing’ courses or will have attended a similar programme of learning.

What do I need to bring with me?

Please bring a pen and a notebook for the first session.

What can I do next?

There is an option to move onto a Level 2 qualification course in counselling skills or you could explore a course in Nutrition (such as Food and Mood) or Exercise (such as Yoga – Foundations for Strong Health).
